yum-sensu Cookbook

The yum-sensu cookbook takes over management of the default repositoryids used with the official sensu repositories. It allows attribute manipulation of the sensu yum channel.

Requirements

Chef 11+
yum version 3.2.0 or higher

Platforms

Fedora and RHEL based distributions (RHEL, CentOS, and Scientific Linux) are supported

The following attributes are set by default

default['yum']['sensu']['description'] = 'Sensu Repository'
default['yum']['sensu']['baseurl'] = 'https://sensu.global.ssl.fastly.net/yum/$releasever/$basearch/'
default['yum']['sensu']['gpgcheck'] = false
default['yum']['sensu']['enabled'] = true
default['yum']['sensu']['managed'] = true

Recipes

default - Walks through node attributes and feeds a yum_resource
parameters. The following is an example a resource generated by the
recipe during compilation.

  yum_repository 'sensu' do
    baseurl 'https://sensu.global.ssl.fastly.net/yum/$releasever/$basearch/m'
    description 'Sensu Repository'
    enabled true
    gpgcheck false
  end

Usage Example

To disable the sensu repository through a Role or Environment definition

default_attributes(
  :yum => {
    :sensu => {
      :enabled => {
        false
       }
     }
   }
 )

To enable the sensu repository with a wrapper cookbook, place the following in a recipe:

node.default['yum']['sensu']['enabled'] = true
include_recipe 'yum-sensu'
